Defective amalgam restoration (First Molar).
Following amalgam removal, Dector (Caries Detector) is scrubbed into preparation.
After removal of decay, the cavity preparation shows no Dector present and is now caries free.
The preparation is etched with Etch-n-Seal, Den-Mats medium viscosity etchant.
After rinsing and gentle drying, Tenure A and B is applied, followed by Tenure S and light cured for 5 seconds with the Sapphire PAC light.

A 1mm base layer of Biocap is placed over the pupal floor due to the depth of the cavity preparation. The Biocap is then light cured.
NOTE: Biocap is self adhesive and and does not require the use of a bonding agent. Since the remainder of the restoration will be filled with Virtuoso Flowable (An esthetic hybrid composite resin) the clinitian decided to take surface preparation steps for that material.
A 1mm layer of Virtuoso Flowable in shade A3.5 is placed as a dentin mimic and light cured.
