What type of light is the Sapphire Supreme?
The Sapphire Supreme is a plasma arc curing light that can be used for composite curing and dual arch, or single tooth, whitening.
How long does it take to cure composites with the Sapphire Supreme?
The Sapphire Supreme light cures composites in 3-5 seconds. It is recommended that curing times are checked for each material using the Curing Test Rings.
During the whitening procedure what type of skin protection is required to protect from the light?
No skin protection is necessary. The Sapphire is not an Ultra-Violet light. However, we do recommend that the patient wear the safety glasses provided.
I have a halogen curing light. Do I need the Sapphire Supreme for LUMINEERS by Cerinate placement?
A conventional Halogen light will work for LUMINEERS Placement. However, the Sapphire Supreme will make the procedure Faster, Easier, and Better. The Sapphire light will penetrate through .5mm of porcelain with 87% more power than the Optilux 501. This will help to ensure a complete cure. The shorter curing time (3-5 seconds versus 30-40 seconds) will greatly increase productivity, saving time and money.
What are the small tips used for?
The CeriTaper Tips are available in 2 mm or 4 mm. These tips greatly reduce finishing time when placing LUMINEERS porcelain veneers. Use the tips to tack the LUMINEERS into place and remove the excess luting agent using an un-filled resin. This provides a huge time savings to the dentist and patient. Reducing the finishing time by 50% makes the procedure Faster, Easier, and Better.
Introducing Sapphire Supreme - The Greatest Multi-Purpose Light Available
To begin using the Sapphire Supreme Plasma Arc Curing and Whitening Light, ensure the AC power cord is plugged into the back of the unit and wall outlet. Next turn the power to the ON (I) position.
To remove the Sapphire curing tip from the pistol, grip the tip tightly and pull away from the pistol. The removable curing tips must be sterilized and cleaned regularly and are autoclavable.
When the Sapphire Supreme light is turned on, the light defaults to the Standard Curing Mode of 5 seconds. Time settings for buttons 1-4 are adjustable, but are defaulted to the following pre-set curing timers:
#1 – 3 seconds
#2 – 5 seconds
#3 – 7 seconds
#4 – 9 seconds
Each of the timers is adjustable up to 10 seconds. If key 2 is pressed after power-up, it will change from 05 to 06 seconds and each time key 2 is pressed another second will be added to the curing time.
To whiten teeth, remove the curing tip and replace with the Sapphire Whitening Crystal. To insert the whitening crystal, insert the round end of the crystal into the pistol holder and snap into place. To clean the Whitening Crystal, use a mild non-abrasive, liquid soap and thoroughly dry surfaces. Cold sterilize with disinfectants containing mostly inert ingredients.
